Conference App
The conference app “ECOC 2018” is available to download for Apple devices and Android devices. The app contains a lot of useful general information, technical programme, my schedule and much more. Once downloaded, a lot of the information is available in the app offline.

There is a free wifi in the conference venue called “ECOC2018”, no password needed.

Delegate coffee breaks 
Coffee is included in the conference registration and will be held in the following places and times:

Lunch is NOT included in conference registration fees. However there are a variety of “Food Beverage selling points” and Restaurants in the venue as well as inside the Exhibition Hall.

ECOC 2018 Programme Details of times and technical sessions can be found on the ECOC website: A printed copy of the programme will be included in the conference bags upon registration. A digital copy of the programme and papers will also be included on the USB memory stick (proceedings) as well as in the conference app.

Closing Ceremony
Thursday 27 September.
The closing ceremony, including the Best Student Paper Award, Audience Best Paper Award, Audience Best Demo Paper is open to delegates, exhibitors, visitors and the general public.

Presentations & Speaker Preview Room

Presenters must report to the Speaker Preview Room and hand in the presentation at least 1 hour prior to your talk! The presentation will then be sent to the room and each room has a technician that will assist and start the presentation for you.

For authors scheduled on Sunday 23 September during a workshop, they should bring their memory stick directly to their workshop room in good time before the workshop starts. Each room has a technician.

Please bring your presentations on a USB memory stick in MS-Power Point or Adobe PDF format.

Note that there will be no presentation uploads in the conference rooms. All presentations must be uploaded in the Speaker Preview Room prior to your presentation. Technical personnel will test-check your oral presentation for compatibility. Please give the technical personnel any special instructions you may have when you are in the Speaker Preview Room, not during your lecture. There will be one technician in each room, the computers will be PC. No use of personal laptops will be allowed.

In order to avoid any problems with your presentation please make sure that it fulfils the necessary requirements for the following software:

The standard format of the projectors in the conference rooms is 4:3 (standar screen).

The poster area will be located in the conference area in Hall 9. Poster presenting authors can display their poster during the day it will be presented between 08:30-17:00. Please remove your poster after your session, posters not withdrawn after the day will not be saved.

Beverages will be served during the poster sessions.
We would like to call the attention of poster presenters to the following items:

  • Each poster board is marked with a poster ID-number. Please find your poster ID-number in the Programme
  • Authors are requested to use only the boards provided for their poster.
  • Authors are required to stand by their posters during their whole scheduled poster session time on Wednesday and Thursday

To collect your badge onsite you need to bring the email confirmation (electronically in the phone works fine) or the text message that has been sent to you in advance, containing the bar code that you will be scanning in the self-service desks in the registration area. Delegate badges must be worn at all times to gain access to the conference sessions, exhibition and social events. Please note that we cannot replace lost badges.

Messages A message board is available in the conference are in Hall  to leave messages to their colleagues and friends.

Press Room
The Press Room is located in the Exhibition Hall M - Minerva. Only press representatives correctly identified will be allowed to use this room.

First Aid 
There is a paramedic in the venue. In case of medical need, please come to the onsite registration desk or go to the Exhibitor Service Desk and we will help you. If medical emergency please call 118.

No smoking policy
According to Italian law, smoking is prohibited inside any building, venue, hotels, busses, etc. Smoking is only allowed at open air zones.

Lost-and-Found will be collected in the registration.

The Organisers cannot be held responsible for accidents to participants or for damage to or loss of their personal property howsoever caused.
